Irene Floren Harper, 88, a resident of Carmen Nursing Center, died there at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Harper had worked for Trent Brothers Lumber Co at Danville, Ind. She was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church and had attended Veedersburg HS. She was born Aug 8, 1908 at Estes Park, Colo to Guy and Lucretia Miller Smith. SHe married March 20, 1928 to Gordon R. Harper. He died July 9, 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Alverta Runion of Lafayette and Trillis Caldwell and Kay Hallett, both of Crawfordsville; a brother, Stanley of Arizona; a sister, Mona Craig of Veedersburg; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home of Crawfordsville with Rev. Larry Felgenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. - kbz
